People always say "The book was so much better" than the movie. This is a case where the opposite is true for me. I saw the movie first. Then again. Then I saw the book and thought 'Wow. This ought to be so good!' So I bought the book since I am a fan of Barbara Taylor Bradford. All I can say is, the movie is great. The book is not like the movie, so I suppose that is why I was disappointed. If I were to have read the book first, I doubt I would have sought out the movie. So one never knows....does one? I'm not saying you won't enjoy the book, but I am saying see the movie--by all means, see the movie!

All of her books are awesome!
I loved the book and I love the movie although they have very different endings. The dvd is in my collection and the book is my so you know I'll be reading and/or watching again!

I have read book Ms Bradford has written......she is an amazing story teller and I have enjoyed each and every book and look forward to the series coming soon
This is one of my favorite Barbara Taylor Bradford books and movies.
I haven't read the book yet my complaint is that it is not even 3 hundred pages it should not cost almost 8 dollars, I will read this book in a few hours not worth the money, even if the book is good.
Rare example of the movie being better than the book that inspired it. I bought the book because I had recently seen the made-for-TV movie and liked it. Let's just say that I enjoyed the movie, but hated the book- the most important parts of story are completely different (including the ending) and the only similarities are the names of the characters and Venice!
